The old schooners have long been gone from the shore in Wiscasset. The Sturdy Beggar brings back some the old romance of the seas to the area.

Arriving in Edgecomb

With tornado warnings in the area the weather was a bit of a test for proud, new owner, Stott, and the Sturdy Beggar. Both arrived at home port is excellent shape.

It was a picture perfect day as the Sturdy Beggar headed for her last stop in Massachusetts at Annisquam to drop off Rich.

Sturdy Beggar leaves the Essex River

Tomorrow on the high tide, c. 11 am, the Sturdy Beggar will take the first leg in her voyage to her new home port in Maine.

Successful launch

Sturdy Beggar went back in the water yesterday. Could not have asked for better weather. Stott & Bobbie were onhand.

Spent the night aboard. Will check out all systems today and tomorrow. Take her to the mooring Friday.
